"Schtroumf" the Children Of Africa Foundation’s last mobile library is in Assinie since August 2021 for the promotion of reading among children. Also, in order to better promote the wealth of reading among young children, the Children Of Africa Foundation has invited as part of its activity called: "the guest of the Bookmobile", writer Arsene Koffi Kouadio, author of: "the voice of children", Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
The ceremony took place at the Assinie 1 School complex in the presence of Mr. Hyppolyte Ebagnetchie, Mayor of the town of Assinie-Mafia, teachers and students of the school.
Mrs. Cissé Aïssatou, Head of Education at the Children Of Africa Foundation, explained to the students the importance of reading and books in their lives. For her, reading is a light because it enlightens the academic path of the child throughout his school career. She also urged the schoolchildren to make books their daily companions, if they want to discover the world.
Mr. Hyppolyte Ebagnetchie, Mayor of Assanie-Mafia, thanked Mrs. Dominique Ouattara for her constant solicitude for the people of Assinie in general and the children in particular. He took the opportunity to announce that a special prize dedicated to the best students in reading bearing the name of Mrs. Dominique Ouattara will be launched at the end of the year.
Mr. Arsène Koffi Kouadio, writer and guest of the Children Of Africa Foundation, presented his 2nd book entitled: "The Voice of Children" to the little readers. According to the author the book speaks about children victims of trafficking, exploitation and the worst forms of labour, as well as crimes such as child abduction and ritual crimes. The book tells the story of Zié who is mistreated by his father who refuses to send him to school. He ends up begging in the streets because of his father. Unfortunately, the little Zié will fall on bad men who will kidnap him. This is a book that draws the attention of parents to the need to educate their children and the dangers of exploitation. The author also addressed the issue of children's rights. The discussion ended with a question and answer session.
It is important to note that the mobile library will stay in Assinie-Mafia until December 2021
