Mrs Brigitte Macron, First Lady of the Republic of France, visited the Dominique Ouattara Mother and Child Hospital in Bingerville on Saturday, December 21, 2019. After she arrived on Friday evening, December 20, 2019 with her husband for a 72-hour visit to Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs. Brigitte Macron made the choice to visit the hospital that was built especillay for children and mothers. All the more so as Mrs. Brigitte Macron is the President of the Hospitals of France Foundation.

Along with Mrs Dominique Ouattara, First Lady of Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Brigitte Macron visited the neonatalogy services, paediatric hospitalization, oncology and the medical imaging services. After the visit, Mrs. Macron expressed her satisfaction with the quality of care at the MCH Bingerville. "I am very impressed. First of all, it doesn't feel like a hospital. It's not a closed place, it's a bright place. It's a place where everything is done for the patients. I can see the great work that is done here and all the efforts to provide quality care to the mother and the child. I've never seen such little babies as the ones I've just seen. Their live is no more in danger and they will not have any after-effects. It's a beautiful message of hope. I would like to thank   Mrs. Ouattara for allowing me to visit this hospital. And for initiating such a project. I am impressed to see the hospital," she said.

Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, First Lady of Côte d'Ivoire, for her part, thanked the wife of the French Head of State for taking the time to visit the Mother and Child Hospital in Bingerville. "I am very happy to receive not only the First Lady of France but also my friend Brigitte. We are very close. I am very happy to have her opinion. As you know, the First Lady of France is the Chairman of the Hospitals of France Foundation. Knowing that she appreciates my hospital is something that touches me very much. I would like to thank her for taking the time to visit the Mother and Child Hospital of Bingerville," said Mrs. Dominique Ouattara. After this visit, the two First Ladies went to Saint Paul's Cathedral in Abidjan- Plateau for a short stopover. Their visit coincided with the celebration of a wedding in the cathedral. The two First Ladies congratulated the newlyweds in a beautiful atmosphere.
