The South African artist Moncebo Zikode, author of the hit song "Jerusema", visited the Mother and Child Hospital Dominique Ouattara of Bingerville, Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Health establishment of reference in West Africa, the South African artist wanted to visit this hospital specializing in the care of the couple Mother-Child that she had the opportunity to discover through the magic of the Internet from her native land.

It is therefore alongside Mrs. Nadine Sangaré, Director of the Children Of Africa Foundation, Mr. Diop Hachim, Director General of the MCH, Mrs. Sylvia Da Silva-Anoma, Professor of Pediatric Surgery and Medical and Scientific Director of the MCH Bingerville and many other personalities that the artist made a guided tour of the various departments of the hospital.  She also took this opportunity to have a word of comfort and support to the children and parents she met. As the icing on the cake, the singer-artist came to the MCH with her hands full of gifts, much to the delight of the little residents of this reference health establishment.

After this visit, the author of "Jerusalema" was kind enough to share the framework of this visit.

"I came first because you have a very beautiful country. In South Africa, I had to visit hospitals. So it is something normal for me. Before I came to Côte d'Ivoire, I did some research on Google. I wanted to know if there were any hospitals in this field (the field of mother-child care, NDLR). I was lucky enough to come across the Mother and Child Hospital of Bingerville. So I came with some gifts to relieve the children, and make them happy," she said, before adding: "The most important thing for me is to make people happy.  I know that children who are in the hospital can feel abandoned and alone. But when we come to visit them even if we have nothing, the mere fact of visiting them is a relief factor".

Nomcebo Zikode's musical career began very early, in 2003. She was spotted during a program of Ukhozi FM which identifies young talents. In 2019, during a period of doubt, she composed the song "Jerusalema", which she conceived as a prayer to God, where she asked him to forgive her and keep her. She partners with Master KG to produce the music, which is released in November 2019. During the spring of 2020, the song becomes globally popular. Many dance challenges are launched under the #JerusalemaDanceChallenge hashtag. At the end of August 2020, the original video clip exceeds one hundred million views on Youtube.
