Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa and Mrs Dominique Ouattara, First Lady of Côte d'Ivoire, launched the newborn hearing screening program in the Rabat region on Wednesday March 6, 2024 at the maternity ward of the Moulay Youssef hospital. The program is part of the launch of the second phase of the "United we stand" campaign.
Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa and the First Lady, Mrs Dominique Ouattara, were accompanied by Moroccan and Ivorian specialists. During the visit, the two officials were able to visit the first beneficiaries, including three Ivorians selected by the Dominique Ouattara Mother and Child Hospital in Bingerville. A total of 40 children from the sub-region, including 10 from Côte d'Ivoire, will benefit free of charge from this program, with comprehensive care worth over tens of millions of CFA francs.
As part of the "United we stand" campaign, Professor Abdelaziz Raki and Doctor Colonel-Major Fouad Benariba gave advanced courses in speech therapy to speech therapists from other countries, including Côte d'Ivoire.
The first phase of this campaign took place at the Mother and Child Hospital in Bingerville in October 2023. Like this phase, it was fully funded by the Children Of Africa Foundation and the Lalla Asmaa Foundation.
