On Thursday, October 9, 2025, First Lady Dominique Ouattara, President of the Children of Africa Foundation, officially launched a national campaign to distribute 15,000 school kits to schoolchildren in Côte d'Ivoire.
The ceremony which was held at the Daloa Sud B School Group, witnessed the participation of a large number of dignitaries and guests who came to welcome this initiative in support of children's education.
Of the 15,000 school kits, consisting of school bags, notebooks, and textbooks, 5,000 were reserved for primary schools in the city of Daloa, with the aim of supporting families and improving learning conditions for students in the Haut-Sassandra region.
In the same spirit of generosity, the First Lady also made numerous donations to teachers, school canteens, kindergardens, and schools in the region. This support is intended to strengthen educational infrastructure and promote the well-being of young children.
In addition, a cash donation of more than 4 million CFA francs was given to schoolchildren, teachers, and the local population, which shos Mrs. Dominique Ouattara's closeness and constant kindness towards communities.
In her speech, the First Lady reiterated the importance of education, one of the main pillars of the Children of Africa Foundation. She urged parents to send all their children to school, regardless of gender:
“As you know, education is an essential part of our work, because a child’s place is at school. I therefore urge parents to enroll all their children, both girls and boys. This is very important.”
Mrs. Dominique Ouattara also sent a message of encouragement to teachers and students. “I encourage teachers to continue to educate our children well, because they are the country’s future. As for you, my dear children, I urge you to work hard so that you can achieve excellent results at the end of the school year,” she said.
Ms. Marietou Koné, Minister of National Education and Literacy, praised the First Lady and her Foundation's ongoing commitment to education in Côte d'Ivoire. She took advantage of this forum to give a positive assessment of the government's efforts to improve access to education.
For her part, Ms. Nadine Sangaré, Director of the Children Of Africa Foundation, recalled that for more than twenty years, the Foundation has been working to ensure that each new school year is a time of joy and hope for children.
