9th edition of the Children Of Africa ‘s charity event: Mrs Dominique Ouattara plans to equip the children’s hospital in Bingerville with a pediatric cardiology department

The 9th charity event hosted by the Children Of Africa Foundation will take place on March 1, 2024, at the auditorium of the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire. The aim of this new charity event organized by Mrs. Dominique Ouattara's Foundation is to raise funds for the construction of a new department dedicated to pediatric surgery at the Mother and Child Hospital of Bingerville. The project will cost about 4 billion F CFA.
But well before this date, the Children Of Africa Foundation held a press conference on Thursday January 18, 2024, at its headquarters in Cocody, to explain the articulations of this 9th Gala Dinner with the theme set as: "We are Africa".
The ceremony witnessed the participation of Mrs Nadine Sangaré, Director of the Children Of Africa Foundation and representative of Mrs Dominique Ouattara; Mrs Zeina Hijazi, Managing Director of ZH Consulting; Mr. Hurry Adjovi from Voodoo Communication and many other personalities.
The achievements and accomplishments of Children Of Africa
The honor fell to Nadine Sangaré, Director of the Children Of Africa Foundation, to present the achievements and accomplishments of Children Of Africa. According to her there is a desire to highlight the richness of Afric. She also recalled the infrastructures that the Foundation had been able to build during previous Gala Dinners. These include the Mother and Child Hospital in Bingerville, the Children Of Africa Excellence School Group in Abobo, the three Welcome Centers in Soubré, Bouaké and Ferkessédougou, the Welcome Center for Women Victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and the reconstruction of the Children's Hut. For this new project, Mrs Nadine Sangaré indicated that the Bingerville hospital remains the best hospital to host this new pediatric surgery department, given its proven performance and reputation. For Ms. Sangaré, the opening of this new department is a boost for cardiology, and will enable children with heart disease to be treated in Côte d'Ivoire from now on.
Mr. Hachim Diop, General Manager of the Bingerville Mother and Child Hospital, presented the new Children Of Africa Foundation project. According to Mr. Diop, after more than 70 international medical missions, ISO 9001 certification and APHP Gold certification for quality and safety of care, the MCH has reached a level of technical maturity enabling it to develop new responses for the most fragile patients. In addition, according to Dr. Ouattara, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara chose to focus on cardiovascular diseases, which is killing too many children in the country, but also in the sub-region. "For this project to be successful, we have decided to enter into partnership with Chaîne de l'Espoir", explained Hachim Diop, CEO of the Bingerville Mother and Child Hospital. He also pointed out that this project will be accompanied by the development of pediatric surgery and neonatology capacities, in order to further increase the response to the population's health needs.
Famous artists and stars for an evening to remember
Mr. Hurry Adjovi, representing Mr. Fabrice Sawegnon, Managing Director of Voodoo Communication Group, outlined the details of the gala evening. He revealed the names of some of the renowned artists and stars who will be making the trip to the shores of the Ebrié Lagoon for the 9th Children Of Africa Gala Dinner. Among the international artists and stars taking part in the Gala Dinner we have Fally Ipupa, Singuila, Dadju, Gim's, Mat Pokora, diva Oumou Sangaré, Aya Nakamura, Yemi Aladé, Akon, Nomcebo Zikodé and many others. A French and local chef will also be on hand for the gastronomic side of things. The evening will be punctuated by performances by renowned artists, an auction and a tombola with a Toyota SUV as 1st prize. The Children Of Africa Foundation is expecting over 900 guests at the event.
