{"id":9442,"date":"2026-05-16T17:30:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T17:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/childrenofafrica.org\/?p=9442"},"modified":"2026-05-19T17:31:39","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T17:31:39","slug":"health-area-first-lady-dominique-ouattara-strengthens-the-technical-infrastructure-of-the-assounvoue-clinic-and-maternity-ward","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/childrenofafrica.org\/en\/health-area-first-lady-dominique-ouattara-strengthens-the-technical-infrastructure-of-the-assounvoue-clinic-and-maternity-ward\/","title":{"rendered":"Health area: First Lady Dominique Ouattara strengthens the technical infrastructure of the Assounvou\u00e8 clinic and maternity ward"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">Residents of Assounvou\u00e8, a town located 189 kilometers from Abidjan, now have better access to healthcare thanks to support from the Children of Africa Foundation, led by First Lady Dominique Ouattara.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the \u201cCatherine Sanogo\u201d clinic and maternity ward received a large shipment of medical supplies intended to strengthen their technical capabilities and improve patient care, particularly for pregnant women and newborns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">This gesture of solidarity from the Children of Africa Foundation supports the efforts of the Klamman Foundation, chaired by Mrs. Catherine Kouadio, wife of Sanogo, who initiated the construction of these health facilities for the benefit of the people of Assounvou\u00e8.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">The equipment handover ceremony took place in the presence of Dr. Son J\u00e9r\u00f4me, representing the President of the Children of Africa Foundation; Ms. B\u00e9atrice Durand, the Foundation\u2019s Director of Social Affairs; Mr. Tazieff Ouattara, Project Manager; and Ms. Catherine Kouadio Sanogo, surrounded by local officials and residents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">The donation includes, among other items, two 1.5-horsepower air conditioners, four electronic blood pressure monitors, two storage cabinets, six visitor chairs, two infrared thermometers, six delivery beds, and various other medical supplies. The total value of these in-kind donations is estimated at fifteen million (15,000,000) CFA francs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">In addition to this equipment, the Children of Africa Foundation donated more than five hundred thousand (500,000) CFA francs to the local community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">Speaking on behalf of the First Lady, Dr. Son J\u00e9r\u00f4me highlighted Mrs. Dominique Ouattara\u2019s ongoing commitment to the most vulnerable segments of society. He emphasized that these efforts reflect the First Lady\u2019s determination to support the social development policy launched by the President of the Republic throughout the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">\u201cThe First Lady brings relief to our mothers in the villages. She stands alongside her husband, the President of the Republic, in the vast development project underway in our country,\u201d he stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">The representative of the Children of Africa Foundation also highlighted several major achievements of the Foundation, including the Mother-Child Hospital in Bingerville, the Children of Africa School of Excellence in Abobo, the \u201cSafe Home\u201d Women\u2019s Shelter in Adiak\u00e9, as well as the shelters in Soubr\u00e9, Ferkess\u00e9dougou, and Bouak\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">Taking this opportunity, Dr. Son J\u00e9r\u00f4me encouraged local women to visit the maternity ward regularly in order to receive better prenatal care and appropriate medical attention. He also praised the social commitment of Mrs. Catherine Kouadio, wife of Mr. Sanogo, to the well-being of the people of Assounvou\u00e8.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">On behalf of the community, Mr. N\u2019dri Kouadio Narcisse, Councilor for the Autonomous District of Abidjan and a local leader, expressed her gratitude to the First Lady for her numerous social initiatives in support of disadvantaged populations, as well as for strengthening the technical infrastructure of the village clinic and maternity ward.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">Mrs. Amani Suzanne, Vice President of the Klamman Foundation, and Mr. Kouam\u00e9 Kouassi Joseph, Secretary General of the Assounvou\u00e8 chiefdom, also expressed their appreciation to Mrs. Dominique Ouattara for this significant act of solidarity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">\u00a0Mr. Aka Say\u00e9 Lazare, President of the C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire section of the Federation for Peace, emphasized the values of peace, solidarity, and love for one\u2019s neighbor as essential foundations for a nation\u2019s development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp526f010cmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">As a token of appreciation, Mrs. Catherine Kouadio Sanogo, and the people of Assounvou\u00e8 presented food supplies to the First Lady as well as gifts to the members of the Children of Africa Foundation delegation.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Residents of Assounvou\u00e8, a town located 189 kilometers from Abidjan, now have better access to healthcare thanks to support from the Children of Africa Foundation, led by First Lady Dominique Ouattara.
